West Herts Hockey Club ensured their Premier survival with a 3-2 win over Blueharts.

The home side were up against it falling 2-0 behind at the break before a second-half comeback. The Stags pulled one back when Marc Parry found the net.

Dan Scott equalised from the penalty spot before Dave Soulsby saved a penalty flick. Parry grabbed a priceless winner late on.

The side also came away with a 2-1 win over Ipswich.

The hosts started the strongest and had numerous chances to take the lead before James Dyson deflected the ball home at a short corner.

The second goal came when Pete Corbridge latched onto a deep cross into the D to slot home. Ipswich pulled one back but West Herts held on.

In Division Three SW, West Herts Seconds won 10-3 at St Albans Exiles to maintain their promotion push.

Max Webster broke the deadlock and Richard Ambrose doubled the lead. St Albans replied before Webster extended their lead.

Top scorer Shea O’Sullivan scored after the restart before the Exiles pulled it back to 4-3. The Stags ran away with the match as Andy Verrinder scored a penalty flick.

With the Exiles reduced to nine men, Stags finally found their scoring touch with O’ Sullivan getting two more. Jason Mallory netted, Webster completed his hat-trick and defender David Wilcock completed the rout.

The Thirds defeated Division Four SW league leaders Harpenden Seconds 3-2.

Top scorer Colin Mannall netted twice and Phil Ratliff made it 3-1 before a late rally by the visitors saw them reduce the arrears.

West Herts Fourths thrashed Luton Vagrants 6-1 in East Five SW.

Julian Peers scored a hat-trick, Justin Hoffman struck twice and Nick Archer also got on the scoresheet.

The Fifths went down 2-1 at home to Stevenage Fourths in East Seven SW.

West Herts Sixths drew 1-1 with Stevenage Fifths. Kieran Wheelan was on target for the Stags with his 21st goal of the season.

West Herts Ladies won 4-1 at Bury St Edmunds in the East Premier.

The deadlock was broken after Kirsty Kent dribbled through the Bury defence and scored a screamer.

Becky Perry and Kent combined down the right hand side to put West Herts 2-0 up with the latter grabbing her second of the game. Perry then scored to put Herts 3-0 up with a straight strike at a short corner. Bury eventually scored before Jess Perry sealed the win.

Jen Hambleton scored a hat-trick as the Seconds defeated Letchworth in the Five Counties Premier.

Charlie Bartlett scored but West Herts were relieved to win after they squandered a 3-0 lead.

West Herts Thirds drew 3-3 at Broxbourne in Division Two.

Margot Sharman was on hand to open their account but West Herts found themselves in trouble trailing 3-1.

A feisty performance by top scorer Emma Fulcher was rewarded with a goal before Sam Rothwell grabbed the equaliser.

The Fourths crashed to a 5-2 home defeat to Saffron Walden in Division Five.

Claire Hazell was on target for the home side first before a head injury reduced them to ten players. The visitors ran away with the match before Becky Dunsmore grabbed a late one for West Herts.
