Bats ended Urban Progress’s 100 per cent record in the Watford and District Table Tennis Premier League.

Stuart Seaholme led the way with three singles and his teammates won the doubles to end UP’s 16-game unbeaten run as the match ended in a 4-4 draw.

A young Ospreys team defeated Panthers 7-1 in Division Three. Anthony Close, 10, and 14-year-old Fred Mummery were both unbeaten. Oxhey Hall B continued their good season beating Watling D 7-1 with an excellent showing from Ray Holt.

In Division Two, Watling C extended their lead to 20 points with a 7-1 win over Iguanas. David Soloway and Andrew Goldstein were their stars.

Second-placed Oxhey Hall A won 5-3 against Audit B. Graham Jeynes won his three games for Audit. The Audit A team did slightly better drawing 4-4 with Kangaroos for whom Gladius Masonas starred.

Jaguars beat Lions 6-2 with 14-year-old Jordan Olney making a big impression.

In Division One, leaders Dolphins had a long match with Watling B, having to concede the final doubles in their 6-2 win. James Banfield finished unbeaten.

Eagles found Hounds a hard nut to crack going down 6-2. Nitin Rajclev was unbeaten for Hounds.

Further Premier games had Fullerians easily beating Post Office 8-0 with Trafford Coker, Andy McMillan and Caroline Wilkes on the winning team.

Abbots Langley and Aardvarks had a much tougher match, with the final outcome uncertain until the fifth leg of the final doubles, which went to Aardvarks for a 5-3 win. Ken Stonebridge was unbeaten for Abbots.
