Watford have released a statement confirming the club have not received an official approach from Cardiff City for Malky Mackay.
Rumours have been circulating since last night that Mackay had an interview with Cardiff over the manager's job after receiving permission from the club.
But a club statement read: “Watford Football Club wishes to confirm that it has not received an official approach for the services of manager Malky Mackay.
“The Hornets boss signed a new deal earlier this year, therefore continues to be under contract at Vicarage Road.”
Mackay has also been linked to the manager's job at Nottingham Forest.
