Carlisle United have urged Watford to reveal the exact details of Danny Graham’s transfer to Swansea City as they have yet to receive their share of the Hornets’ £3.5m fee.

Carlisle were handed a 15 per cent sell-on clause when a Football League tribunal agreed the compensation fee Watford needed to pay following Graham’s move in 2009.

Which means United are seemingly entitled to £450,000 from Watford after Graham’s £3.5m move to Swansea was agreed last month.

Carlisle’s managing director John Nixon has contacted the Hornets as he claims the club are yet to receive the money or details of when the Blues will be paid.

“This affects us now and our cash flow for probably the next four years,” Nixon told the News and Star.

“We have sent an issue to Watford to say we need to know the deal. We have got a right to know.”

It seems Carlisle have yet to be informed that Watford have agreed a 15 per cent sell-on clause themselves.

That could have a knock-on effect for the Blues as the club’s managing director believes they may be entitled to some more of Watford’s money should Graham secure another big-money move in the future.

Nixon added: “Within that deal [Watford] might have got a sell-on themselves of something like 20 per cent. That means we would get 15 per cent of 20 per cent should he move on again. You have to keep an eye on these things.”
