Andreas Weimann has expressed his delight at signing the new contract at Aston Villa which made his Watford return possible.
Weimann was keen to return to the Hornets on loan but we understand Villa would not allow that to happen before the striker penned a new contract as his previous deal was set to expire this summer.
The 21-year-old has this afternoon rejoined Watford on loan until January after signing a new contract at Villa, which will expire in 2014.
Weimann told Villa's website: "It's great. I was offered the new deal and I was over the moon to sign it. It was the only thing I wanted to do.
"When the offer came up, I just wanted to sign. It was an easy decision to make.
"Villa are a fantastic club and I am delighted to continue my association with them. It's superb.
He continued: “Over the last two weeks I have been training with the first team and the manager must have liked what he's seen of me to offer me the new deal. That's fantastic.
"I have three years now and I hope, by the end of it, to be a regular first team player for Aston Villa.
"That's the aim. I am just going to do my best."
Weimann, who is known simply as Andi, scored four goals in 19 appearances for Watford last season, nine of which were substitute appearances.
The Austria Under-21 international came on in Villa's Carling Cup win on Tuesday, setting up one of the goals.
