Watford have completed their second capture from Aston Villa in the space of as many days, signing Jonathan Hogg for what we understand is an initial £300,000 fee.
Following the return of Andreas Weimann to Vicarage Road on loan until January yesterday, the midfielder has moved from Villa Park on a three-year deal, although he has also signed loan forms to make him eligible for the Hornets’ clash against Birmingham City tomorrow.
The 22-year-old had two years to run on his existing Villa Park deal but has dropped down a division, telling Watford’s official website he’s “desperate to play first-team football”.
The Middlesbrough-born player has five Premier League appearances to his name but spent the second half of last season on loan at Portsmouth, where he made 19 starts.
