Lee Hodson is the only injury doubt for Watford as they travel to Barnsley at the weekend looking to continue their unbeaten start to the season on the road.

The Hornets have picked up five points from a possible nine away from home and will be hoping for another three points when they travel to a ground where they have enjoyed little success in recent times.

Watford have won just once in their last eight visits to Oakwell but Barnsley, like Watford, have yet to win at home this season, after defeats to Southampton and Middlesbrough and a draw with Leicester City.

“Winning does build belief and lock in belief so the victory over Reading was important for us,” manager Sean Dyche said.

“We don’t think we have been a million miles away in terms of performances this season so it is nice we are doing well away from home and will be looking for another win on the road and then come back to Vicarage Road and get our first win there.

“We want to win every game no matter where we play and that will continue on Saturday.”

Watford could name the same XI which beat Reading 2-0 on Saturday as Hodson is the only injury doubt going into the match.

Hodson, who has a sore knee, was unlikely to make the 16-man squad any way as summer signing David Mirfin is the preferred replacement defender.

Captain John Eustace and Craig Forsyth missed training this week but it was only a precaution and both are expected to be fully fit.

Dyche said: “Eusty and a Craig missed a day each but it was minor stuff. We were careful with a couple of the lads after the Reserve game on Tuesday but it was more about their recovery than injuries.

“So we are all clear on the injury front apart from Lee Hodson who is a doubt with a sore knee.”

Watford’s 2-0 win over Reading was the first time in a year they have kept back-to-back clean sheets away from home.
