Watford manager Sean Dyche says he is not looking to send goalkeeper Rene Gilmartin out on loan for the time being.

Dyche revealed last month that he wanted to send the Irishman out to regain the sharpness which resulted in him being dropped from the first team after just two games.

Gilmartin replaced Scott Loach for the matches against Millwall and Southampton, only to lose his place in the 2-0 defeat to Crystal Palace on October 15.

Last week, third choice stopper Jonathan Bond - who had taken Gilmartin's place on the bench ten days ago - joined Forest Green on a one-month loan arrangement.

When asked if he was still looking to send Gilmartin out on loan, Dyche said: “Not at the moment. Obviously we are still looking at that.

“Goalkeeper is a funny position; it is not like a midfielder where you have four slots to fill. So the timing has to be right and the timing was just right for Bondy to go there. We felt that Rene was just a step higher than that [Conference].”
