Martin Taylor and Stephen McGinn are continuing to progress on the road to recovery for a Watford side who have no fresh injury concerns for the visit of struggling Doncaster Rovers tomorrow.

Centre-half Taylor has been sidelined since the middle of October with a dislocated collarbone but his team-mate’s battle back to fitness has been much longer after sustaining knee ligament damage, coincidentally against tomorrow’s opponents, at the Keepmoat Stadium in February.

“They’re back training, which is good news,” said Sean Dyche. “Obviously Stephen’s a bit slower, he’s joining in bits and bobs of training, getting himself going again and getting the feel of it.

“Martin’s back in more or less full training but with his injury he’ll need games to get him back to what you’d call true fitness, but they’re going along nicely.”

The Hornets, who are undefeated in their last six home games, will be aiming to extend their unbeaten sequence to an eighth match against second-bottom Rovers, who have picked up just six points from a possible 36 on the road this season.

Dean Saunders’ side have attracted plenty of attention after appointing agent Willie McKay to act as “transfer consultant”, with the Scot’s arrival leading to the signing of a number of high-profile players.

McKay has targeted out-of-favour stars on loan with the club then paying a small portion of their wages, as well as receiving part of the transfer fee should the player then be sold on by the parent club.

Dyche remarked: “Me and Woany (assistant manager, Ian Woan) know Deano quite well and he’s had his own sort of style of doing things there and being questioned, but certainly not from me. It’s up to each manager.

“I’m a novice, I’m learning, I’m enjoying the process but it’s an interesting one, how people do their business.

“I’m certainly not one to judge but what I would say is they do have their way of flexing their muscles in the loan market and they’re changing their team, I wouldn’t say weekly but certainly bi-weekly and that does make it sometimes awkward to prepare for that but we believe in what we’re doing at the minute, so we’ll be fully focused on what we do.”
