Cracking: Watford release picture of new home kit

Pictured is Watford's new home kit which is made by Puma and sponsored by the happy egg company.

The club's new kit sponsor is a Hertfordshire-based company and their managing director Steve Horton is pictured here with Hornets captain John Eustace.

The home strip can be pre-ordered from www.thehornetsshop.co.uk today and will be delivered in late July.

Short-sleeved shirts are £39.99 for adults and £29.99 for kids and £44.99 and £34.99 for long-sleeved. Season ticket holders receive a 5 per cent discount.

The colour of Watford's shorts is a topic of debate among Hornets fans. This season's shorts will be black with a vertical red stripe and the socks will also be black with a red section.

The away kit will not be released until the club's Open Day on August 12.

Its not as bad as it could have been i guess. At least the black shorts are back. However, i think the shirt is much too plain. All the focus is on the Egg logo. Not a good thing!!

A decent Puma Shirt, no smiley egg on the front, and at least we have a sponsor.

It is eggsactly what I was eggspecting, do not see what the problem is with Happy Egg. As above at least we have somebody prepared to sponsor us. Always thought though that DHL would be a good sponsor for us, every time I see one of their drivers from a distance, think they are wearing a Watford top. Suppose Man U got in first.

Like the Black shorts and socks, not too much red, just need to get rid of our awful logo, would prefer we went back to the hornet of the 70's rather than a moose on a crest.

If the players are back at training, where are the usual pics of the first day back etc...come on Wobby

Anyone know a good tattoo removalist, will need to get Bassini's face off my back before the season starts.

From memory, that was because they didn't sign Toshiba up as sponsor until quite late.

It is good to have new kit but what we really want is new players that can wear them, and boost our squad for next season.
A lot of clubs in our division already working hard at this, that means we are losing out. When is this take over happening it iscertainly not (immenent)

hopefully none of the "few small details" have turned out to be major deal-breaking obstacles. An update from the club would be good from a PR and state of mental health point of view. Even if its to say still progressing well.

Just an observation. Generally most clubs (not all) model their seat colours on what colour their kit is.

And a very good observation too Angel. My seat is quite grubby and worn out, not quite sure I would like to replicate that with a shirt though.

Surely this is the idea of sponsorship and brand awareness.....we are all talking about them. Do not see the negative in a bit of egg throwing.

Can you imagine all those shirts on a hot summers day. Bright yellow and were losing. Songs from the away supporters. Happy happy happy-happy shirts..............

Personally I am quite happy. I like the sponsor, at least the red matches our colours and the green is not that distracting, I also like the fact that it is a local company - thank you Happy Egg. The banter on here is also great and persoanlly I like the return to black shorts, although I prefer yellow socks - all of this is purely personal, as a kid my first memories were mid-1960's when Watford actually wore a more golden yellow and black shorts, gold socks, but as a shirt design I think it looks good. Puma also make great kits, so this is another coup (chicken coop) for the club! We could also start our very own Watford FC TV reality show "stars behind bars", Marlon King could be a host and perhaps we could get Deeney to tell us if he prefers his scrambled or boiled. I think the egg jokes have almost run their course, as long as no clubs poach our best players and leave us scrambling then we should not have to cry fowl. If we do end up having a promotion season at least we can say all our chickens came home to roost, and that our plans were well hatched. We can all then feather our nests... come on you gold-hen boys!
