Gino Pozzo expected to address Watford staff for the first time today

One of the Hornets' new owners is expected to address club staff for the first time this afternoon, the Watford Observer understands.

Office staff at Vicarage Road had been left in the dark during the club's takeover, which took several weeks to complete.

The Pozzos takeover of Watford was completed in the early hours of Friday and announced that afternoon.

Chief executive Scott Duxbury addressed staff on Friday and Gino Pozzo is expected to this afternoon.

We understand staff will be addressed by Duxbury and Pozzo later this afternoon and the club have just released a statement confirming a staff meeting will be taking place at 2.45pm.

This means the club's office will be shut until 9am tomorrow, although The Hornets Shop and Ticket Office will remain open.

We all wait with baited breath! First job; to promote the guy who wouldn't give Baz the keys to the safe!

I'd say a 5 mile restraining order for the Stanmore joker is a good start. Followed by a change of locks for Saracens' keyholders.

Surely the first job - is to reassure fans by stating exactly what has been bought - Is it the club, the ground, the pub, what are the debts, etc. We do not need to know the price paid, but the family will earn lots of respect by publishing an operating account for the last 15 months. Let us know what the real income was from ticket sales, Saracens, transfers, how much cash is in the bank, what debts are due, etc. What were the real costs in terms of recent investment in the ground, pitch, transfers, players wages, admin costs, payments to Baz. They have nothing to lose by showing the fans what was really spent and what the gap is compared to revenue. It would dispel the rumours and allow fans to understand their future decisions on player recruitment, investment in the ground and the future of the academy. None of this is the sexy exciting stuff like the football management and playing squad they plan for next season and beyond. But explaining the recent past will help set the scene for the future. I see that they can only gain if the facts show they are either saviours from a looming disaster of canny investors who are building on solid foundations. Either way i would like to know where we are starting from.

I agree and I would like to know but I wonder if there is some kind of non disclosure agreement in the purchasing contract? These kinds of clauses were in alot of players and staff termination contracts in Simpsons day - I'm sure it will come out in the wash

It'll be interesting to see what information they give out, i'd like to know too but wouldnt be suprised if they kept quiet.

Just a thought but if they do choose to limit the information they give will Buckler and co. start some sort of campaign against them? Fairs fair after all.

I truly dislike being negative, i've been looking on the net all weekend hoping for information as i'm sure many have in excitement, but was a little suprised that before any announcement made in this country about anything, indeed even before any contact made with staff, Pozzo was telling the Italian press about Zola being the next manager. Hopefully just a blip but do hope in the future news about our club is announced in this country first and not gained second hand from foreign press. Bit harsh on SD too even if he may have had an idea it was going to happen.

As usual have to go to Italian media to get PR for some reason this is a statement made by G Pozzo "British coaches are different in their way of management to Italian coaches.

"My son should still be in London tomorrow. There should be no problems for Zola."

Sean Dyche is currently in charge of Watford and last season guided the Hornets to a respectable 11th-placed finish in the Championship, but Pozzo is keen to secure promotion as quickly as possible.

"We want to revive a historic club and bring them back to the Premier League immediately."

If that's the case then expect some big signings to try and achieve this aim, cause your not going to do it with the current squad, also why dig at the English managers, this is after all a English club in a English league so not sure where your going there on that comment!

I see a solution.

Fair is fair. Gianfranco Zola for Watford and Sean Dyche for Udinese, after all the Italians need a coach to take them forward.

A comma is a break or pause in the sentence

Firstly I did point out I was eager for news like most fans were over the weekend (and by the way almost mid day Tuesday and i've not seen any press statement released by the owners in this country directed at us the fans) and I am excited by the new owners. But yes regardless of what I thought of LB (and where did I laud him by the way, my comments were realistic not fantastical like many others!) it is a little off that the press in another country are being told more than we are so far and my dig was at the anti LB lot asking if you're going to treat the Pozzo's in the same manner as LB

For what it's worth, think Bassini was always looking for a profit ? yes,you can laugh at this observation, but he hasn't got a great track record in business.Luckily we had a great manager in Sean Dyche as it happened and the players performed so well last season,as,once again,we were everybody outside Watford's favourite for relegation,(again),N
one of us can know how it's going to turn out, just another chapter in the roller coaster ride that is W.F.C. good luck to the boys for the forthcoming season and thank you Sean...never a dull moment !!
