Be careful what you wish for everyone. As much as I lke Zola as a guy and footballer, a Manager he hasn't been. He has no experience of the Championship and what is required. An look at Duxbury's record for bringing in players. I fear for our season and if he's anythiny like Vialli or as he was at West Ham then we will find Iwelumo at right back and we will be getting our backsides slapped trying to play pretty football in a Division which will take the mickey. When are people going to learn from past experiences. Chasing rainbows everyone....
That is possibly the most ignorant post ive ever read!! Just because Zola's Italian you hope he's not like Vialli?? Id be more worried if he was like Hoofroyd...Pretty football?? Did u not watch Blackpool, Fulham, West Brom, Swansea etc..pass there way out of this very average division??"

One of the new Watford owners - Giampaolo Pozzo - has confirmed to Italian media that Gianfranco Zola is set to become the club's new manager.

Two weeks ago the Watford Observer reported the Pozzos had considered replacing Sean Dyche with Zola and last week we confirmed the Hornets' new owners would indeed make that change.

There has yet to be a statement from Watford or the new owners with regards to their future plans for the club but father Giampaolo has spoken to Sky Sports 24.

"I can say that Zola is the man who will be managing Watford. Before signing Zola, we had to work on some legal details. It took a bit of time.

With Zola we had a verbal agreement and my son might fly to London again tomorrow. Any way, there shoudn’t be any problems and Zola should be our new manager."

Pozzo added: "We always believed in Zola, we’ve known him for a long time as he was about to join Udinese when he was a Napoli player.

He is a serious and capable manager. With proper means and opportunities, he can do well.".

Giampaolo's son Gino will be at Vicarage Road later today, where we expect him to address staff for the first time.

Dyche was appointed Watford's manager last summer and guided the club to 11th - their highest league position for four years - despite having one of the Championship's lowest budgets.

Replacing Dyche with Zola is sure to split opinion among Watford fans. Take part in our ballot below and explain your decision in the comment section.
