Loach completes Ipswich move (From Watford Observer)

Seems at we are prepared to get rid of the dead wood on the cheap to make way for a new era.

Would be good to see a few signings in the coming days to settle the nerves.

Good luck to the lad - but I was always amazed at the amount of people who kept saying "give him a chance he is young".

The difference in results last season when the Manchested United goalkeeper came on loan was for all to see.

The biggest clue as to how much the lads form sadly declined is by looking at the amount paid by Ipswich.

If you understand it to be £200k even though the contracting parties have decided to keep the matter private, the bigger story is - who inside the club is feeding you with information - did the cleaner find something on the copier?

Not brainwashed, just embracing the future. All been said already about Dyche.

The fact is that with or without him the club would still be in a precarious position financially with a wonky stadium if not for the takeover. There is still a long way to go but so far we have had 3 players in on loan and sold 1 for a fee.

Let's be honest here Loach is no where near as good as Almunia or Cuducini. And either or both would be a huge benefit to the club and the younger keepers.

So, 2 goalkeepers sold/released and Heaton deal scrapped. I can only assume that Almunia or Cudicini, or both, will definitely be joining. We are 2 keepers short.
Hemelhorn87 - you are right to be concerned however I genuinely do believe that the Pozzos are in it for the long term and as such it is less likely to go belly up. It feels similar to Vialli situation and laterly Simpson/Ashton, but the big difference is that we have proven ownership in charge and pulling the strings. God I hope I am right!

One howler is one thing but a constant succession of them is too much for any fan to bear especially when it is costing point after point after point. Hemelhorn, come off it. Things change. What exactly is our club image? The 3 guys I play golf with weekly, laugh at Watford and ask if the wind doesn't blow too hard through our 3 sided pitch. Is that the image you want for your club. Is it? I'm fed up with "The Watford Way" if it means mediocrity on the pitch and squalor off it. I want a club I can be proud of again and as far as I can see, this is what The Pozzo's want too. Now I suggest that those dissenters get on board quickly and maybe, just maybe, we will have a club we can be proud of again and be represented in the top flight in a couple of seasons from now.

Dont get me wrong, this new structure is exciting, no longer serious financial trouble above our head and i agree with cudicini being better than SL (even if the almunia signing troubles me a little) it just seems we are all playing a speculative game of football manager where the owners dont understand us as fans!

Scott Loach went for £150,000 ABSOLUTE FACT! You the so called fans killed him this season along with Sean Dyche, Tomas was not the answer he never gave you a MOM performance as Loach did in the last game of the season. Rest was needed I agree, Look back over 4 seasons and take a really good look, and ask your self's about his ability, great young goalkeeper. Sean got the job as he was cheap, and lets be honest no body wanted him anyway, and from day one did Sean not like Loach, after the Palace game it is known that he never even spoke to him till the last game, that's so poor. A good manager takes the weight on his shoulders and does blame one person in public. Loach trained hard to show us all his is back. Even played reserve games to get back to form. The problem is you still have the same goalkeeping coach that has no idea of the modern game, look at visiting goalkeeping coaches and how they prepare their Goalies, Alex is old school, clueless and needs to move on. Half the comments I read on forums are from total retards that obviously have know idea about football and how to treat human beings, most probably on the dole as well. The Championship has no place for the football Zola wants to play, not enough time and the players do not have the touch, especially at the back, Lloyd, Nosworthy, Murfin, lets not kid ourselves. Anyway I am going to have to sit again in the stands with the same thick fans that panic even at the burger bar and that's before kick off, when we say our fans are special I could not agree more. Lets see how long it is before we are killing some other player, and making them leave on the cheap, then when they have gone still calling them, get a grip support means exactly that, good or bad.

If the club sell for £150k or £20M. What does it matter now, it's not our personal money, and we know the club is in safe hands financially, so the fee is irrelevant now. The point is, Scott needed to move, so everyone is happy.

Exactly, they have not stated that we can only spend what is generated through player sales, so what the hell.

Woke up last night in a sweat, had a nightmare that the staff had not been paid and somebody was trying to get into to safe.....couldn't make it up.

Have to agree with Tactone re Scott Loach , and as much as I liked Sean Dyche can confirm that he never spoke to Scott after the Palace game. Shocking behaviour for a manager . Unfortunately , the way the season panned out made SL's transfer a certainty , although £150, 000 is only good business for Ipswich ( dreadful for us). The fans destroyed his confidence , and I was very disappointed to see OUR supporters ( or some of them) have that attitude to a player who has served the club well . It was almost BULLYING in my opinion.No-one had the guts to say it to his face after matches did they ? TK played 13 matches in which we gained 21 points and he conceded 16 goals , SL's last 13 games we gained 18 points and conceded 19 goals. It is a little unfair to compare those figures , in a way , as we only really found confidence after the Tottenham defeat ..winning 3 out of the next 4 plus a draw with SL in goal. After the 2 thumpings ( Palace & Southampton ,) we continued that form till the end of the season. As for TK , he too made errors ( 1st goal re Southampton, Derby's free-kick , His mix up with Dickinson v Leicester , and was lucky too..his double save v Leeds was only made because he dismally dropped the first effort) He was on £30,000 a week and at over 27 ( the age Keepers reach their peak) was obviously more experienced etc and has a bigger presence than SL. But SL is also a better Kicker of a ball. Kuszack kicked longer , but hardly found his man. At his BEST , there are not many better English keepers in the League than SL and hopefully this move will prove that for him. I wish him well . Good luck to Watford , if all they can get better than SL are 2 old "past their peak" Premier goalies ( foreign at that ) looking for a last couple of seasons before retiring. I don't agree about Alec Chamberlain , I think he is a good coach , but just couldn't give SL any more after his confidence dropped. Also agree that our back four did not exactly "want" the ball at the back , as none of them can really pass it about.
I am pleased we have been saved from admin by these owners , but I'm worried at the moment as to where this club is heading. Whilst we all want to win , this has always been a "fans" club , and with prices ( hospitality etc) already been raised I feel we may not enjoy this takeover as much as we think we're going to....

First of all we have replaced Dyche with someone respected world wide. He can attract players in that Dyche never could. Mapps, good business in my opinion. Don't forget the add Ons. Sarries deal was agreed in principle with Bas, they have their own ground just about completed. Absolutely maced a country folk club with an absolutely pants goalie. players? 3 loaned and several will sign. Prudent business, again IMHO.
The stand, oh it will get built, with real money by a family with a proven track record in success.

You are not far wrong here, we would have been going absolutely mad!

There is no doubt there will be players coming in, that is a certainty. I am sure we will bring some decent players in as well as a few not so decent ones. That's football. But the amount of change off the pitch is not necessary.

There is a fair bit of negativity around some of what's going on and a fair bit of positivity The truth of what's going on is probably somewhere in between all of that

Totally agree with the comment reference bullying! Why do some people on here always feel it is necessary to abuse someone when they lose confidence? Surely it is our job as fans to try and build their confidence not destroy it further! Don't get me wrong it is our right as fans to let a player know if they don't Perform to the standard we expect, however that can be done in a constructive way, posting personal abuse on twitter accounts, booing and being offensive about someone is just not helpful to anyone ! to be fair there is only a minority off bully boys posting on this site! They r the same people that start offering people out when they dare to have a difference of oppinion with them, playground stuff ...
I am still excited about the future and would personally prefer Cudicini to Almunia but both IMO are better than Loach so a step up in class . Can't wait to see the players coming in and fans now just have to back Zola and forget about SD as I ain't gona change anything by being negative .. In Zola we trust !!

Why do you think TK is no longer on 30k a year and Loach at Ipswich? Because neither are as good as they think!

These are certainly interesting times, and the number of posts are an indication we are all very interested in the goings on.
Nobody can condone bullying if that is what occured, but when you see the manager continuing to play someone who is patently not good enough your frustration needs to come out in some way. Loach being human will make mistakes, bit his were too many and too costly.
I am sure the majority of the people on this forum want Watford FC to do well, it's just that we all have different ideas as to how that should be achieved! Totally agree now we are apparently not on a tight budget the money we recieve or spend on transfers is fairly irrelevant. COYH

I must admit last season it got to the stage where me and my mates over analysed every goal Watford let in with Loach in goal. There were plenty of "soft goals" being scored against us where you felt that a better keeper would have dealt with. Especially shots from distance and ones resulting from crosses. When TK arrived (apart from his first game) the "soft" goals seem to stop. I think confindence returned to the back four at that point knowing they had somebody who was both dependable and reliable behind them. All that said I do wish Scott all the best at his new club Ipswich. I think we should have explored getting a new goalkeeper in much earlier than we did. Who knows we may have finished in the play offs had we had somebody of TK's stature for the whole season. Just think if we had got promoted last season and got that pot of premier league gold we may not have been taken over and Bas would have pocketed all that cash.
