Moor Park golfers Matthew Wallace and Callum Shinkwin represent England

Moor Park golfers Matthew Wallace and Callum Shinkwin have joined 13 other players to represent England Golf at the European Amateur Championship in Ireland.

Shinkwin is one of four members of England’s victorious squad that won the European Challenge Trophy in Iceland last month.

The event, held at Carton House, began on Wednesday and runs until Sunday.

Shinkwin made his full England debut against France at Rochester & Cobham Park in May after he had won the Hampshire Hog.

No English player has won the European competition since Matthew Richardson claimed victory in 2004.

Since then, James Heath, Gary Lockerbie, Matt Cryer, Steven Lewton, Tommy Fleetwood and Steven Brown, in 2011, have all come close but ended in the runner-up position.
