Watford defender Adam Thompson has joined Wycombe Wanderers on a one-month youth loan .

Thompson has been involved with the Watford first team this season and played the full 90 minutes on Tuesday night.

But he is likely to find first team football hard to come by due to the high number of summer signings, with more defenders expected to arrive in the coming days.

Wycombe have injuries to their two right backs Marvin McCoy and Danny Foster and needed cover.

Wycombe boss Gary Waddock told wwfc.com: "He’s been on our radar for quite some time now and we’re delighted we’ve been able to bring him to the club.

"He’s got international experience, played in the Championship and in League 1. We also watched him on Tuesday night and he played very well.

"We needed a right-back with Marvin McCoy injured and Danny Foster returning to fitness and Adam fits that bill perfectly."

Hope Wycombe give him reguar football for the whole season if possible. What I have seen of Adam I like very much and he can not get better playing for our reserves or behind closed door friendlies. We need a nucleus of our own players and I hope that in years to cme Adam says with us.

More defenders to come in the coming days, says the report. Assume GZ has seen enough of the back 4 and its farewell Bennet/Doyley/Dickin
son/Hodson and possibly Nos/Taylor too.

Taylor has been outstanding and going nowhere

Why would he make Taylor captain if he wanted to get rid of him?

I'm sure a few people will go but let's not forget how threadbare our squad has been the last few years.

Thommo is a good player. Be good to keep him if we can. Loan is a good move.

Out of order with your comments on Nosworthy and Taylor I think

Well, the whole team seems to be fair game for replacement, so I am just playing devil's advocate.
I like Taylor and Nosworthy as it happens and they have done very well, but it wouldn't surprise me if replacements did come in, given all of the other activity - perhaps I could have phrased it better!

No probs then. Your id namesake had the best game that have seen him play for ages but I see no future for Ross Jenkins with us.

Good luck to Adam. I hope he plays well and they then sign him for a season long loan and he impresses as one of the best young players in the league. If not, I reckon his future may not be at The Vic. And as much as I am loving the influx of foreign flair players, I would love a mix of home grown talent in the team.
