Watford forward Matej Vydra made his first two appearances for the full Czech Republic side during what was another busy international break for Watford players.

Vydra played 73 minutes during Saturday's 0-0 draw with Denmark, which was a World Cup qualifier, and came on at half time as the Czechs lost 1-0 in a friendly against Finland last night.

Nyron Nosworthy played in both of Jamaica's qualifiers against the USA, as did former Hornets defender Adrian Mariappa .

Jamaica's 2-1 victory on Friday saw them top their qualifying group but the 1-0 defeat last night means three sides all on seven points, with two games remaining.

Full back Lee Hodson was an unused substitute during both of Northern Ireland's qualifiers, as they lost 2-0 to Russia and drew 1-1 with Luxembourg.

Sean Murray scored an exquisite lob on Monday night when Republic of Ireland Under-21s secured a memorable 4-2 victory over group leaders Italy. He was an unused substitute when his side lost 2-1 in Hungary, which ensured they could not qualify for the tournament next summer.

It was a forgettable week for Northern Ireland Under-21s with two defeats but a memorable one for Adam Thompson, as the Wycombe Wanderers loanee captained his country during Monday's 3-0 defeat to Denmark. He also played in the whole game as they lost 3-1 to Macedonia on Friday.

Tommie Hoban, who like Murray signed a new five-year deal recently, played the whole game on Saturday as Republic of Ireland Under-19s drew 1-1 with Latvia in a friendly.

New signing Cristian Battocchio, on loan from Udinese, is also in Italy Under-20s' squad for their game with Switzerland tonight.
