Herts Sunday Junior Cup Round One
Two Division Three sides completed excellent away wins in the County cup as Shenley Wood and AFC Oddfellows defeated Athletico Quat 6-0 and FC Cestrehunt 4-0 respectively.
Shenley’s scorers were Jamie Hazell, with a fine hat-trick, and one apiece for Phil Coe, Nick Martin and Harry Block.
On the scoresheet for Oddfellows were Connor Flanagan, with a brace, and a goal each for Joe Fox and Michael Day.
Sun Postal United were beaten 3-2 against FC Jersey Farm, with Steve Rogers netting both goals for the beaten side.
The Pavillion lost 2-1 to Old Pond Athletic – Daryl Gillibrand netting the consolation.
Gadeside Rangers Reserves had a walkover when their opponents Heath Rovers failed to field a team.
West Watford were well beaten 5-1 by Hemel Hempstead Corinthians. Amer Khan managed to grab Watford’s only goal of a disappointing game.
Premier Division
Hammer are really setting the top flight alight this campaign after a good few seasons without success.
In the battle of the two top sides, it was a no contest as they hammered Croxley Green Community Centre 9-2.
Chris Blunden was in inspired form in front of goal as he found the net on four occasions. Mark Hansard and Matt Byrne both hit braces, while Alan Dunton was also on the scoresheet.
St Josephs suffered a 4-2 home defeat by Bushey, who moved up to third place. The win was sealed thanks to goals from Ashley Harewood, Daryl Brown, Mata Toure and Jamie Brown, with his regular strike against Joes. Jon Croft netted twice for the losing side.
Oxhey Estates claimed their first win of the season when they beat Wellington Arms away 5-3.
Paul Wyard scored twice, with one apiece from Sam Addinall, Dan Bowles and Lee Tonner.
It is a worrying start to the season for Welly who have already conceded 24 goals in just three games.
Division One
Chorleywood Club stayed on top spot with a 6-1 beating of Green Dragon .
Michael East and Tom Toomey each scored twice, while Andy Rockett and Andy Chapman also found the net. Lewis Walker scored for Green Dragon.
AFC Spartians secured a good 4-3 win away to third-placed Rifle Volunteer .
The victory was partly down to the performance of Tom Horton, who grabbed a hat-trick. Dan Horton grabbed the other goal for Spartians. Rifle’s goals came from Hugh Trayte, with two, and George Wells.
Mill End Sports also won away 2-1 at West Herts , with their goals coming from Darren Girdler and Andy Pryor. Roger Lake replied for the Stags.
CK Guild and Langleybury Cricket Club couldn’t be separated as they fought out a 1-1 draw.
Karim El-Janfali found the net for the Guild, while Dennis Mallollari was on target for Bury.
In another well-contested draw, Met Police (Bushey) shared six goals with Old Garston Juniors .
Hassan Zelzale hit two for Bushey Police, while Ashley Shanahan also scored. Vilson Culaj (2) and Metin Mutzzacari got the goals for Juniors.
Division Two
Bushey Bimecc head the division after a 4-0 against Hammer Reserves .
Paul Kenwright scored a pair and there was one each from Callum Foley and Jack Powell.
In second place, Oxhey Jets Vets won by 5-2 against Old Fullerians , with Lewis Putnam back on form with a hat-trick. Rhys Barker and Scott Pugsley also netted goals.
AFC Bushey won 4-2 away to Dome Bare Area , with Ryan Legge, Mark Ferguson and two goals from Carl Mitchell. Brian Coomber and Angelo Napolitano replied for the Dome.
Sun Postal Sports were also victorious by the same scoreline, beating Wellington Arms Reserves through strikes from Nicky Thomas (2), Graeme Olney and Andy Arnold. Nicky Hanyours and Mitchell Wade replied.
Division Three
The three leading sides in the division all had convincing wins, none bigger than second-placed Hertsmere who thumped bottom side Oxhey Estates Reserves 10-2.
Louis McGregor led the scoring with a hat-trick and there were two each for Jamie Hakes and Tokie Odibasine. Rhys McDonough, Matt Boyce and an own goal got Hertsmere up to ten. Estates’ goals were scored by Trafford Nolan and Dan Furey.
Leaders Woodlands United were also in ruthless form in front of goal as they eased to a 7-2 win against Railway Arms .
Woodlands had six different players on target – Lee Harrington, Jack Gilmartin, Mark Mullane, Tom Kelly, Matt Tate and Graham Small, while an own goal rounded off the victory. Railway’s two strikes were both from Stefano Pepe.
Evergreen had a 6-2 comfortable win over Ebury Guild .
Jack Smith (2), Jonny Daily, Kieran Zeller, Andy Murphy and Phil Waldock did the damage. Guild’s scorers were Alec Tomlinson and Dan Dare.
Division Four
It remains close in Division Four with no side running away at the top of the table.
Current leaders Carpenders Park Rangers completed a 3-1 away victory over bottom side AFC Bushey Reserves .
Matt Austin, Adam Berger and Craig Howard all found the net for Rangers, while the Bushey goal came from Wes Gullin.
Rickmansworth Athletic and Racing Santandome fought out a very tight 2-2 draw, with Chris Dunn scoring both goals for Racing.
Rickmansworth Rovers and Oxhey Lions played out a 1-1 draw, with James Budden on target for Rovers and Steve Howard scoring for Lions.
