ings Langley's Under-11 victorious in Hertfordshire Junior League

Kings Langley's Under-11 side completed their faultless season by winning the Hertfordshire Junior League final for the first time in 13 years.
The Langley side had qualified for the finals day thanks to their 100 per cent league record and a comprehensive victory over Hertford in the quarter-final.
Kings took on Knebworth Park in the semi-final and, after electing to bat first, posted 104 for three from 20 overs, with David Burnell, George Langston, Liberty Maher and Scott Rolfe all contributing.
Bowlers Joe Atkins, Alex Lee, Ashwyn Batey and Oliver Rose all performed well to restrict Knebworth to 51 for eight.
Kings took on West Herts in the final and once again Langley won the toss and decided to bat.
Good runs were posted by Langston, Maher and Samuel Hutchings as Kings scored a total of 94.
With the ball, Kings again did well to take wickets but the Stags were still in the game.
However, the pace of Burnell saw a clatter of wickets fall to seal victory for Langley.
Meanwhile, Abbots Langley Under-17s were crowned county champions with a 58-run win against Bishops Stortford.
After Langley lost the toss, they were inserted but Matt Parkins (73) was in good form with the bat and Dhaval Narotam added (41) as Kings posted 178 off their 40 overs.
In reply, Stortford lost their opener as Chris Theaker grabbed an early wicket.
Sam Bailey (two for 19), Nick Gurney (four for 29) and Dom Smith (two for 23) then did the majority of the damage as Kings skittled their opponents for 120.
Elsewhere, Watford Town’s Under-9s are also country champions after completing a victory over Knebworth Park.
After being inserting by Park, Town were strong with the bat to post a total of 265 after 16 overs.
It proved a target which was too big for Knebworth and the Watford bowlers worked their way through the Park batsmen, who ended short of the target on 247 all out.
