Nyron Nosworthy could return for Watford against Peterborough United after Neuton sidelined with injury
9:00am Friday 19th October 2012 in Sport By Anthony Matthews, Group Sports Editor
Nyron Nosworthy may return to action for Watford tomorrow after the injured Neuton was ruled out. Picture: Holly Cant
Gianfranco Zola will decide today whether to change Watford’s formation after Neuton was ruled out of the Family Day fixture with Peterborough United at Vicarage Road after sustaining an injury in training.
The Hornets confirmed the Brazilian defender, who has started the last six matches, suffered a twisted ankle but Zola revealed yesterday the on-loan Udinese player also has a toe problem.
Although Nyron Nosworthy has missed the Hornets’ previous three games, he is available again after playing twice for Jamaica and scoring his first international goal in Tuesday’s 4-1 victory over Antigua & Barbuda to help his country edge through to the final six-nation round of CONCACAF qualification for the World Cup.
Zola said: “Unfortunately Neuton is ruled out for this game. We’ll assess Nyron tomorrow. We’ll see how he came back [from international duty] and decide tomorrow.”
Although guarded when asked whether Neuton’s absence would lead to a change from three at the back, Zola joked: “I cannot reveal all my own strategies because they normally work very well. I’m a master in deceiving the opposition.
“It’s under consideration. I will decide tomorrow what to do. I might change, I might not.”
The Hornets have looked a more solid side since switching from 4-3-3 to 3-5-2 but speaking to the Watford Observer on Tuesday – and prior to Neuton’s injury – Zola suggested he would persevere with this tactical shape, although he did not rule out changing again in the future.
He explained: “I thought with a 4-3-3 we were playing well but because of the physical conditions when we were dropping down the rhythm and the intensity we were risking too much. So I thought it was better to give a little bit more stability to the team and I think it worked quite well because we were a little bit more solid but we kept creating good chances going forward.
“I said it already, it’s not that I’m not going to use the other system anymore. I believe the best way to play at the moment is like this and then we’ll see how it goes.”
While John Eustace, Prince Buaben and Geoffrey Munjangi-Bia remain sidelined, Watford have no fresh injury concerns going into tomorrow's game following the return of the five players on international duty.
Fernando Forestieri, who has completed his one-match suspension, and Matej Vydra, after his red card against Middlesbrough was rescinded, are also both available.
Peterborough are at the bottom of the Championship largely as a result of losing their first eight league outings but Zola remarked: “In the last three games they have exactly the same story [as Watford].
“They changed system, they won two away games, they played at home and they lost. The only thing is they finished with 11 players. But they try to play the same as we do so therefore it’s going to be a very interesting game, in my opinion it’s going to be a tough game despite the position they occupy now and I’m looking forward to the challenge.
“We know we are playing well, we know we are creating a lot of chances and in the last few games we were conceding less.
“The game against Middlesbrough in my opinion doesn’t give a good indication because of the circumstances but I believe that the team has grown up in different ways – physically, also the balance of the team, in everything. We need to make sure we convert more points – more consistency above all.”

Dicko is fine as cover and what he lacks in ability makes up for in passion. I defo wouldn't start him

Please can we have some atmosphere? Im going to be attending with three friends (not fans) and it is sometimes embarassing how quiet we can be. I know this is an oft-talked on topic and I dont want to dredge it up again but with the International break, the crowd and our new found sense of optimism surely we'll have something to cheer about tomorrow guys!
I would very much like to see Vydra and Deeney start up front together with Geijo getting time at the end. Think there could be a great partnership in those two. I also want to see Doyley back as he just edges it over Cassetti for me. More Hogg, Chalobah and Abdi magic please and lets make some bloody noise and get behind the Golden boys!!!

Anyway enough of this muscle imbalance rubbish, I have enough to spare and will carry the whole of Jason's misfit eleven if required. And if muscle isn't enough I have my wing man Buckler to add the snap to the mix!
So order of the day is fish and chips with Chris Bottom, a red bull or ten with smarties with Holly 69 followed by Jason's expert post commentary on the game!

If Zola is the deceiver he says he is he'll bring Troy on after 35 minutes to replace Giejo (45 if a rhythm is found) and will save either Fernando or Mattej on the bench for a 4-3-3 switch in the last 20.
If DF has an answer to that then he will actually deserve to be up there with daddy.
