Piero Mingoia’s loan spell at Accrington Stanley has been extended until the start of next year.

The midfielder, who celebrates his 21st birthday tomorrow, initially joined the League Two club for a month but with a view to extending his stay at the Crown Ground.

This has now been done and he will remain with Paul Cook’s side until January 18.

Mingoia, who scored his first league goal in the 3-2 defeat to Rochdale earlier this month, has so far made two starts and three substitute appearances for Stanley.

Hornets team-mate Matty Whichelow is also on loan at Accrington and he has also started two games to date, with two further appearances coming off the bench.

Funny enough I think he'd be more suited to the premiership than the lower leagues however it is game time he needs. Will this be the last we see of him? I'd like to think not but I won't hold my breath.

Spoke to a guy yesterday who knows piero and Zola has been told or maybe ordered by top brass to play the loan signings rather than our own players! Straight from the horses mouth. Remember piero was played a lot during the friendlies and Zola really rates him. I think he will be back.
