Division Two

Kings Langley played out a frustrating draw against Holtwhites Trinibis but leapfrogged their opponents in the table.

Kings posted a total of 232 for eight in 53 overs with Tom Sambrook scoring 54, Mark Brazier ending on 47 not out and Les Brown adding 39.

Holtwhites never recovered from a mid-innings collapse and settled for a draw early into their reply as they finished on 152 for seven. Mark Brazier did the damage, taking four for 50 while captain Christian James chipped in with two for 14.

Hemel Hempstead Seconds recorded their fourth successive win after overcoming Watford Town Seconds by eight wickets.

Town started the game at the crease and looked to be in control as they reached 124 for three. Spinner Bryan Davies then ripped through the middle order to end with six for 90 and skittled Watford for 187.

That total wasn’t enough to defend and Hemel’s increasingly strong batting line-up knocked off the runs in 42 overs.

Blesson Ghoghe top-scored with 63 not out and was supported by Josh Graves (42), John Pearson (45) and Tom Waterton (27 not out).

Shenley Village moved up to sixth in table after they completed a five-wicket win against Northwood.

Northwood won the toss and decided to bat. Dan Rodgers was dropped off the first ball and that proved costly for Village as he went on to score 125.

Useful knocks from Simon Noach (64) and Andrew Sharland (27) followed and Wood posted a final total of 257 for eight.

With the ball, Will Gerrard claimed two for 39 while Nikhil Borkhatria ended with two for 73. There was also one wicket apiece for Charles Thurston, Rob Laney and Sam Dowsett.

Mindful that stormy weather was forecast and with a hefty target to chase down, Lloyd Willingham and fellow opener Thurston knew they had to keep a healthy run-rate going from the start.

Thurston hit a quick-fire 28 - all in boundaries - before being dismissed but Willingham went on to score a career best 106 not out. He was supported by a lively 47 from Laney and a knock of 38 from Morgan Stanley.

Their efforts helped Shenley chase down the runs in 45 overs with two wickets to spare.

The pick of the Northwood bowlers was Paul Richardson who took three for 87.

Division Three

Abbots Langley returned to the top of the table with an emphatic five-wicket win against Harpenden Seconds.

Despite losing the toss Abbots were always in control and outstanding fielding complimented the bowling.

Harpenden ended on 198 for six with Chris Chellow taking three for 54 and Barry Warner ending on two for 27.

The Abbots reply started strongly with Chellow and Jack Read putting on 57 for the first wicket.

Chellow was dismissed for 20 which brought Michael Burgess to the crease and he went on to score 70 not out alongside Jack Read (57).Their partnership steered Langley to victory in 44 overs.

Division Four

Bushey’s title challenge took a hit as they lost by 22 runs to Potton Town.

In a low-scoring affair, Bushey opted to field first and eventually bowled the home side out for 122 with Farooq Hameed recording excellent figures of five for 45.

In reply, Bushey reached 45 for one and looked set for victory, yet a sizeable batting collapse saw them barely reach three figures and they limped to defeat at 100 all out. Northwood Town recorded an emphatic nine-wicket victory over Broxbourne Seconds.

Dominic Whyley and Richard Doling both picked up four wickets apiece to help bowl out the home side for just 80.

Town eased to the target with Kunal Sanghi (45) and Raj Ahluwalia (28) seeing their team home.

Rickmansworth recorded an excellent 83-run win at home to Cheshunt with Marty Jaynes (62) and Fraser Paterson (59) each recording half centuries as Ricky posted an imposing 253 for six.

Paterson was again in the action, this time with the ball, as he helped skittle the visitors for 176 inside 41 overs, taking four for 40 to round off a good day for him and his side.
