Steve Finn has been named in the 14-man England squad for the one-day international against Ireland and the series against Australia.

The Watford-born bowler, who is also in the Twenty20 squad for the fixtures against Australia later this week, will be hoping to put a frustrating international summer behind in the limited overs formats of the game when he was left out for the remainder of the Ashes after playing in the first Test.

Finn’s chances of being a key figure in the one-day games are strong as England have opted to rest fellow pacemen James Anderson and Stuart Broad, along with Alastair Cook, Ian Bell and Graeme Swann.

Following the two Twenty20 matches on Thursday and Saturday, England play Ireland next Tuesday (September 3) before the five-match Australia series gets underway on September 6.

Despite only playing in the first Test at Trent Bridge, Finn was at The Oval on Sunday to join in England's celebrations following their 3-0 Ashes triumph.
