Division Four

League-leaders Bushey cantered to a six-wicket victory over basement side Ware after bowling them out for just 76.

Impressive spells from Shahid Ashraf (four for 12), Farook Hameed (two for 13) and Parvinder Singh (two for 15) saw Ware bowled out inside 36 overs.

Visitors Bushey shifted their line-up around with the bowlers being given the chance to show off their batting skills and Israr Hussain hit an unbeaten 26 to see the away side home in 22.1 overs.

Rickmansworth claimed a 40-run win with the last ball of the innings away to Bishop’s Stortford Seconds, following half-centuries from Richard Gregory and Malcolm Aerington.

Batting first, the visitors slumped to 64 for six before a 100-run partnership between Gregory (68) and Aerington (61) helped them reach 236.

The home side’s response was regularly interrupted by the loss of wickets. In an innings that included four run outs, Zaf Shah took four scalps.

Division Five

Langleybury Seconds secured a 50-run win over Hatfield & Crusaders after their top three batsmen all achieved half-centuries.

Having chosen to bat first, opener Gus Ball hit an unbeaten 62, while further contributions from Matt Stone (59) and Josh Roe (55) helped home side Bury to finish on 206 for four.

Crusaders’ reply never got going as Andy Cheeseman dismissed the spine of their line-up as he took five for 40 to bowl them out for 156.

Chorleywood Seconds cruised to an eight-wicket victory over Watford Town Seconds following a fine performance by Ryan Toms.

After winning the toss, Chorleywood put the home side into bat and spinner Toms took four for 17, while Josh Ryan claimed four for 21 from the other end to bowl Watford out for 115.

The away side reached the winning target in under 18 overs as Toms (26 not out) and Ruari Grigg (38 not out) smashed the ball to all parts of the park to hand them the win.

Division Six

Kings Langley Seconds completed a 37-run victory over visitors Boxmoor with the penultimate ball of the innings following impressive all-round displays from Tony Morton and Dave Houghton.

Batting first, Kings racked up a total of 236 for nine after Morton hit 76 and there were important contributions from Tim Piper and Houghton, who both scored 30.

Houghton then picked up three for 17 and Morton two for 20 as the home side claimed an exciting victory, bowling out their opponents for 199 with just a single ball remaining in the innings.

Northwood Seconds slipped into the relegation places following a four-wicket loss at home to Wormley despite a half-century from Steve Lewis.

The batsman struck 63 as Northwood posted 197 for seven after they batted first but the away side chased down the target with relative ease in 46 overs.

Hemel Hempstead Thirds succumbed to narrow six-wicket loss at home to relegation-threatened Old Haberdashers.

Tight bowling from Hemel’s Scott Radcliffe (four for 26) and Rory Fraser (two for 34) restricted the away side to just 152 but any hopes of an easy run chase were dismissed as opener Will Langley fell for a duck.

Fellow opener Aaron Wilson top-scored with 37 but the home side were bowled out for 146 to hand Old Haberdashers a vital win in their quest for survival.
