Saracens Herts Cricket League

Division Seven

Rickmansworth Seconds ran out five-wicket victors against relegated visitors Potters Bar Thirds after Andy Milner, Marc Robinson and Brett Harvey all took three wickets apiece.

Taking to the field first, blistering opening spells from Milner (three for 20) and Robinson (three for 17) dismissed the top order as Potters Bar were bowled out for 87.

In reply, Vish Rathi hit a quick-fire 25 as the home side reached the total in 17.1 overs.

Abbots Langley Seconds promotion hopes have been ended for another season after they suffered a demoralising 31 run defeat to Waltham Cross Rosedale Seconds.

Taking to the field first, Andrew Rueth took three for 14 for Langley as they dismissed their opponents for just 116.

Despite an impressive 41 from George Agius, the away side’s response was disrupted by a constant loss of wickets as they were reduced to 46 for six before being bowled out for 85.

Division Eight

Langleybury Thirds travelled to mid-table Northwood Town Seconds and came away with a draw after opener Graeme Roe hit 74.

Being asked to take to the field first, it was hard work for the away side’s bowlers with Kevin Kelly (three for 39) and Scott Dormody (two for 63) among the wickets as Northwood declared having posted an imposing total of 245 for eight.

Roe’s innings, along with 46 from Roger Ball, gave Langleybury a good start to their chase but the loss of regular wickets ended any realistic chance of the away side claiming victory as they finished on 185 for six to claim a share of the points.

Hemel Hempstead Fourths fell to a four-wicket loss against County Hall Seconds, leaving them requiring at least a victory on the final day of the season to have any chance of surviving relegation.

Put into bat, Hemel openers Chris Nuttall (42) and Rahul Wickramsinghe (24) shared a stand of 67 but the home side collapsed to 144 all out. Matt Bateman (three for 22) did his best to stem the ease at which Hall were scoring runs but they were still able to stroll to victory in 36 overs.

Division Nine

Rickmansworth Thirds remain in the relegation zone following a six-wicket loss to title-chasing Broxbourne Thirds despite a half-century from Bobby Chowdhury.

Having been put into bat, a third-wicket partnership of 75 between Chowdhury (61) and Raz Khan (53) gave Rickmansworth the perfect platform but they slumped from 155 for five to 199 all out.

Broxbourne chased down the target in less than 30 overs to leave their opponents requiring at least win on the final day of the season to survive.
