Division One 

Langleybury ensured their safety with a 39-run victory over promotion hopefuls Reed after Richard Soulsby hit an impressive half-century.

Having won the toss, Langleybury chose to bat first and Soulsby (68), Nahim Amin (62) and Will Oxley (50) helped the home side to reach 218 for six from their allotted overs.

Reed, needing to win to guarantee promotion, lost regular wickets as Khalid Manzoor and Ross Channer both picked up four scalps to bowl the away team out for 179.

While victory assured Bury’s status in Division One for another year it also denied Reed the opportunity to climb into the Home Counties Premier League.

Division Two

Seven wickets from Mark Brazier helped Kings Langley beat St Albans West Indian by three wickets.

Brazier’s seven for 50 saw St Albans bowled out for just 159 and Les Brown led the run chase well before he fell for 95.

Having slumped to 123 for six, Kings required some hard hitting from Brad Hughes (22 not out) and Brazier (11) to see them over the line.

Hemel Hempstead Seconds completed a simple nine-wicket victory away to Holtwhites Trinibis with Bryan Davies once again impressing with the ball after claiming four wickets.

Having lost the toss, Hemel took to the field first. Davies claimed four for 33 and Matt Petchell took three for 30 as they bowled the home side out for 125.

The visitors’ response got off to a rapid start as captain Neil Morgan hit a quick-fire 42, while Jim Birnie (42 not out) and Faisal Iqbal (36 not out) remained unbeaten to see Hemel home.

Northwood drew with Broxbourne as Simon Noach hit a half-century and picked up two wickets.

Broxbourne batted first and set a substantial target of 276 for seven with Paul Richardson taking three for 57 and Noach recording figures of two for 56.

In reply, 61 from Noach and 44 from Cameron Unicomb helped Northwood to edge to 238 for nine at the close.

Division Three

Abbots Langley were crowned champions following a 26-run win over relegated visitors Southgate Adelaide to seal their 12th victory of the season.

An unbeaten 51 from Barry Warner and 44 from Michael Burgess allowed Abbots to declare on 201 for five after they were put into bat.

Captain Mat Dunstone was the star bowler for the home side, taking three for nine and Don Smith took two for 31 as Adelaide were bowled out for just 175.

Met Police Bushey secured their ninth promotion in 13 attempts even though they fell to a five-wicket loss against Totteridge Millhillians Seconds.

Asked to bat first, Met Police were bowled out for 187 after useful knocks from Urvish Upadhyay (47) and Andy Fish (41).

Millhillians began their run chase well and although Alex Carter struck twice, the away side cruised to victory.
