Saracens Herts Cricket League

Division Four

Bushey clinched the title following a comprehensive 74-run victory against Bayford & Hertford after Farooq Hameed took five wickets.

Batting first, Bushey posted an imposing total of 215 for six following a superb innings of 88 from Chandan Sharma.

Hameed once again starred with the ball and his five for 33 saw Bayford bowled out for just 141 to give him 65 wickets for the season.

Division Five

Langleybury Seconds defeated local rivals Chorleywood Seconds by six wickets as Andy Stone claimed five wickets.

Chorleywood won the toss and chose to ask the visitors to bowl and Andrew Cheeseman was on target early on as he dismissed one of the home side’s openers.

With a solid second-wicket partnership of 78 developing, the spin duo of Stone (five for 32) and Rishil Dhrava (four for 31) rattled through the Wood batsmen, bowling them out for 131.

In reply, Josh Roe and Matt Stone both scored 37 and shared a partnership of 77 before the latter ran himself out. But a well-made 22 from Roger Ball saw Langleybury home in the 41st over.

Division Six

Kings Langley Seconds sealed an exciting three-run victory over Wormley, stopping their opponents from becoming champions in the process.

Batting first, Kings were bowled out for a disappointing 129 as Ben Joyce top-scored with 40 and only Tom Clark (24) and Rich Davis (21) also made double figures.

However tight bowling from Nick Shetty (three for 12), Oli Toms (two for nine) and Richard Whitlock (two for 14) ensured Langley secured the narrowest of victories.

Northwood Seconds were relegated following a nine-wicket loss away to Hertford Thirds.

Batting first, Steve Lewis hit 53 before he was run out and Northwood were bowled out for a lowly 155.

The away team chased down the target within 32 overs with Ram Nandiraju claiming the only Hertford wicket.

Hemel Hempstead Thirds suffered a seven-wicket loss at home to Bentley Heath as only three of their batsmen made double figures.

Hemel chose to bat after winning the toss but were bowled out for just 107. Captain John Clulow (24), Anjam Khan (24) and Adam Moulster (21) were the only batsmen to show any resistance.

The home side could do little to stop Bentley chasing down the target within 23 overs, although Dan Turbutt returned impressive figures of one for ten.
