Division Three

Bushey clinched their third win of the campaign as they secured a three-wicket victory against Letchworth Garden City Seconds.

Bushey won the toss and captain Nomaan Ilyas inserted Letchworth with a view to using Bushey’s strong bowling to restrict the home side.

The Letchworth opening pair however didn’t wilt under the early pressure and went on to post a solid 50-run opening stand.

Bowlers Qamar Shahzad and Mohammed Asif toiled hard but couldn’t find the breakthrough, Shazad came the closest to grabbing a wicket.

The introduction of the spinners led to a change in fortune. Farook Hameed (five for 63) and Israr Hussain (one for 38) took all the Letchworth wickets as they ended on 230 for six.

In reply, Bushey skipper Ilyas fell for just two early into the innings. The repair job was led by Chandan Sharma (63) and Naren Gogna (24) and the duo managed to get Bushey back on track.

Mike Foley proved the difference between the two sides. When he arrived at the crease there was still a lot of work for Bushey to do but he struck a classy 87 to put them in control.

Although there was a cluster of wickets, in the end it was left for Shahzad to hit the winning runs in the 47th and final over.

Division Four

Chorleywood Seconds celebrated their first win of the campaign as they recorded a 45-run victory against Hatfield & Crusaders.

Batting first, Wood found themselves in trouble early on as they slipped to 50 for six. However, Guy Manson-Bishop and Chris Lee led the fight-back with a fine century partnership to give Wood a target to defend.

Manson-Bishop top-scored with a superb 74 while Lee added 34 as Wood were eventually bowled out for 170.

Manson-Bishop’s fine game continued with the ball as he took three for 14 from his seven-over spell, whilst pace bowler Jamie Smithson led the attack with four for 55 from his ten overs.

Matt Hodson then closed the game out with two for five as Hatfield were skittled for 125.

Rickmansworth sit second in the table after they secured a 92-run victory against Broxbourne Seconds.

After winning the toss, Ricky chose to bat.

Openers Maz Shah and Chris Morris made 65 for the first wicket before Shah was dismissed.

Fraser Paterson and Morris continued the good start with Morris eventually being caught on 41.

Abbas Shah played a fine innings, coming to the crease at a time that Broxbourne’s dual spin attack had tied Ricky's middle order down.

He both nudged and bludgeoned his way to 47 before being trapped leg before wicket. Captain Ray Collins ended the innings with a cameo 30 not out as Ricky ended on 219 from 48 overs.

Paterson started superbly with the ball and two early wickets saw Broxbourne in trouble on two for three. It was a position they could not recover from.

Paterson continued to take wickets, eventually ending with six, as the visitors were bowled out for just 125 in 35 overs.

Bowlers Ash Shah and Ben Cutler also took two wickets apiece.

Langleybury Seconds got back to winning ways as they produced a stunning bowling display to defeat Berkhamsted by nine wickets.

Berko batted first but their time at the crease was short-lived as they were skittled for just 45. Andrew Cheeseman did the majority of the damage and ended with seven for 17.

It was a total that never troubled Bury and they cruised to victory inside the 11th over.

Division Five

Leverstock Green Seconds made it three wins from three games this season as they overcame Wormley by four wickets.

Skipper Dayle Littlejohn inserted the visitors at Bedmond Road and they were progressing well until Imran Iqbal was rewarded for his persistence with four for 42 from 21.3 overs, reducing Wormley from 100 for two to 122 all out.

In-form Green opener Ben Parkes hit 51 in reply, setting up a run chase during which Sam Revell (23) and Lee Littlejohn (18) produced some hard hitting as Levy eased home by four wickets.

Hemel Hempstead Thirds made it a double for the club at Welwyn Garden City as they claimed a 98-run win against their Third XI.

Hemel were inserted but they went on the attack and Jitan Raval smashed 64 while Will Langley added a helpful 49.

It allowed Hemel to post a total of 188 for nine and that proved more than enough as Welwyn were dismissed for just 90.

Phil Freebrey ended with three for 28, Ed Langley took two for 11 and there was also a wicket for Charlie Hoskins.
