Division Six

Kings Langley Seconds moved up to fourth in the table after they clinched a comfortable 126-run win against Old Cholmeleians Seconds.

Batting first, Kings scored 251 for six from their 51 overs. Tim Piper led the way with the bat and he scored 75 not out.

There were also useful contributions from Nigel Barlow, who scored 59, and Tom Clark who struck 34.

With the ball Duane Smith was the architect of Cholmeleians’ downfall as he took six for 26. The victory was secured in the 35th over as the Cholmeleians’ last wicket fell on 125.

A poor display with the bat proved costly for Rickmansworth Seconds, who were beaten by 74 runs against Reed Seconds.

Ricky started the game in the field and put themselves in a promising position thanks to tight bowling from Marc Robinson (three for 39).

Reed’s innings looked almost over at 129 for nine but Marcus Martin then bludgeoned 86 to help the home side reach 181 before they were dismissed.

Rickmansworth were poor in reply and lost three wickets in one over as they crumbled to 31 for five.

Callum Cusack held one end up with 16 while Robinson set about a one-man attack, hitting 63 in trying to take the game to Reed.

But once Cusack departed the remaining batsmen could only muster one run between them as Robinson was left not out at the end with Ricky 107 all out.

Northwood Seconds completed a 93-run win against Totteridge Millhillians Thirds.

Wood batted first and posted an impressive total of 208 for four with Ranjit Latchman hitting 60.

The bowling attack was led by captain Ram Nandiraju, who claimed five wickets, while Nigel Hussey and Ishotda Sharrif both ended with two dismissals apiece as Millhillians were skittled for 116.

Division Eight

Langleybury Thirds sit top of the table after they recorded a resounding 121-run victory against Berkhamsted Thirds.

Bury were inserted and made a slow start to their innings. However, as the pitch dried out, the runs began to flow and they went on to post a total of 233 for six from their 50 overs.

The Berko reply got off to a poor start as they lost early wickets and the Bury bowlers continued to put pressure on their opponents.

Dismissals continued to come at regular intervals and Berkhamsted were all out for just 112.

Hemel Hempstead Fourths are up to sixth in the division after they clinched a 27-run win against Hatfield Hyde Seconds.

Hemel batted first and posted a total of 163 for eight with opener Jim Birnie the top scorer with a knock of 43. Jim Langley added 33 while Steve Smith and Rahul Wickramsinghe both struck 20.

The Hyde reply never got going thanks to the bowling of Tony Beamish who ended with a superb eight for 48 and Hatfield were dismissed for 137.
