Division Ten

Chorleywood Thirds extended their winning run to four matches as they defeated Ickleford Thirds by 33 runs.

Wood batted first but got off to a poor start as Rob Dunstone and Will Bryant were both dismissed for ducks.

However, Charles Hardcastle (73 not out) led the recovery and Mike Reeve struck 48 as Wood posted 172 for nine from their 53 overs.

Wood’s bowlers then showed their class to dismiss their opponents for just 139.

Ciaran Ladd was in fine form and ripped through the Ickleford order to end with superb figures of eight for 29 from his two spells.

The 30 points move Wood up to seventh place in the division with a match against Cockfosters, who sit just one place above them, to come this weekend.

Northwood Thirds were leapfrogged by Botany Bay Thirds following a seven-wicket home loss.

Having hit 167 for nine, with Steve Dickson (38) and Ben Laxton (31) top-scoring, Northwood could not prevent their visitors reaching 169 with wickets to spare.

Division 11 West

Langleybury Fourths claimed an important 42-run win over Old Albanian Thirds in their battle against relegation.

In reply Martin Henderson (five for 49) kept Old Albanian under the cosh, finishing all out for 126.

Having won the toss, hosts Mill Hill batted first, posting a total of 168 for nine.

Tejas Rach took four for 49, whilst 15-year-old Johnny Watson claimed two for 47 for Watford.

In reply, the visitors reached their target of 169, with Sandeep Shinagare (87) and Richard Eames (40 not out) leading the chase.

Division 12 West

Chorleywood Fourths moved to the top of the division after they recorded a seven-wicket win against Boxmoor Fourths.

Wood’s bowling attack again proved too strong for their opponents as they restricted Boxmoor to 135 for nine. Mick Rose claimed 42 for four while Amy Hensman chipped in with two for 21.

Simon Dare led the Wood reply. He scored 70 not out and, alongside Ed Rogers (20 not out), guided Wood to a comfortable victory.

Abbots Langley Fourths secured a derby win over Kings Langley Fourths with a four-wicket triumph.

Hosts Kings posted a competitive 182 for eight, with Jerry Graves (three for 53) and Adam Benjamin (two for 25) bowling well for the away side.

Abbots, although losing wickets at regular intervals, appeared to have the upper hand; Chris Wilcox (63 not out), Puneet Pattni (39) and skipper Pete Bailey (31) guiding them to 185 and a victory.
