Steven Finn will look to benefit from the air of change at the ECB after being selected for England’s One-Day International squad to take on New Zealand this month.

The Watford-born paceman is one of just seven players to hold on to their place following England’s disastrous World Cup showing in Australia and New Zealand and will hope to impress England’s selectors sufficiently with the Ashes starting on July 8.

Finn, 26, has taken 23 wickets for Middlesex in the County Championship Division One and with the new ECB hierarchy and coach Trevor Bayliss in place, the former Parmiter’s School pupil will be keen to underline his credentials ahead of a big summer for England.

He has not featured in an England Test side since victory over Austalia in the first Test of the 2013 Ashes at Trent Bridge.

Kent’s wicketkeeper-batsmen Sam Billings is the only uncapped player included for five one-day internationals and a Twenty20 fixture to conclude the limited overs matches.
