Two of the most successful clubs in the history of the Watford Observer Fourteen14 Plate could meet in the semi-finals of this year’s competition after the first round draw was made.

Two-time winners Watford Grammar School for Boys, who are the only team to retain the trophy in the event's 13-year history, and Aldenham were kept apart in the draw but are in the same half so they may meet in the last four of the competition which runs parallel to the latter stages of the main Shield competition.

The school side, who lifted the trophy in 2012 and 2013 must first get past Langleybury B while 2003 and 2005 victors Aldenham also have home advantage against Watford Haidery B.

In the top half of the draw, Watford Town B are at home to Chipperfield Clarendon and the most highly-ranked side in the competition, Hemel Hempstead Town, make the trip to Rickmansworth School Staff.

Aldenham, Hemel, Rickmansworth School and Watford B qualified after being knocked out in the first round of the Shield, while the other four teams in the field had the worst net run rates of the teams defeated in round two of the senior event.

Competition organisers are also pleased to confirm that Abbots Langley and Leverstock Green have agreed to host the Plate semi-finals this year.
