Mike Dobner has become Langleybury’s second current England international after representing his country in defeat against Australia Over-60s in Sussex.
England came up 27 runs short against the tourists, allowing the Aussies to draw level in the third match of the Ashes series.
Australia were 41 for three after ten overs with the first three victims all bowled. Then Phil Drescher hit 67 in 43 balls to spark a recovery for the Australians. And an eighth-wicket partnership, which bore 61, helped take the score to 217 all out.
England were 31 for three from the first 11 overs but recovered well and with 15 balls left the hosts found themselves on 174.
A further 16 runs were added from the remaining two-and-a-half overs but they were unable to overhaul the Aussies.
