Radlett Seconds moved within three points of Leverstock Green after a three-wicket win over Division Two A leaders in their top-of-the-table clash.

Stand-in skipper Michael Lee won the crucial toss and chose to field on a damp wicket. They were rewarded when Ross Carpenter (two for 43), bowling superbly first up, dismissed the dangerous pairing of Miles Barnard and Lewis Koch.

Leverstock grew back into the game with a partnership of 73 between the free-hitting Kris Jadeja and skipper Littlejohn before an inspired bowling change brought Troy Barrett (five for 29) into the attack, taking two wickets in his first two deliveries, to finish with his maiden five-wicket haul for Radlett.

Good tight bowling from Stanley Tinkler (one for 14) and Simeon Cohen (two for 40) meant Leverstock Green were bowled out for 153.

The reply got off to the worst possible start with Alex Cook being dismissed with the score on one but good batting by Noah Lipschitz (42) and Hugh McDowell (13) settled the nerves. The ever-dependable Neel Malde grafted away (35) but once he fell, three wickets in the space of six balls brought the game into the balance. Up stepped man of the moment Barrett where he hit a brilliant 31 not out, supported well by Lee (20), to secure the victory.

Watford Town earned their third consecutive victory after a six-wicket win over Holtwhites Trinibis.

Captain Ibby Hanif won the toss and decided to bowl on a damp green wicket which suited seamers. The bowlers were in excellent form with Holtwhites struggling on 62 for eight off 18 overs. But a recovery helped take them to 189 all out. Watford dropped some crucial catches but there were still fine performances from Ravi Panchal (six for 43) and Pavan Kumar Chesetty (two for 23).

Watford did not start well in their run chase, losing in-form batsman Yogesh Pujari to the first ball of the innings after he was caught at mid-wicket. This bought in Vidhyarthi Kantumucchu (56) and Abu Choudhary (54) and the pair put on a 100-run partnership.

Skipper Hanif then came to the crease and he saw the game home with an unbeaten 35, hitting two fours in as many balls to finish the game in style.

In Division Two B, Abbots Langley are on the verge of promotion after a 150-run win over Met Police Bushey maintained their run of victories.

Chris Chellew yet again set about the opposition bowling, scoring another century (120). Scott Newman then peppered the boundary with 62 which included six sixes to score 298 for seven.

This was never going to be an easy target and a good all-round display, particularly Nick Gurney with four for 45 and Ibby Usman (three for 20), restricted Met Police to just 148 all out. The win gives them a 54-point cushion over Harpenden Seconds.

Hemel Hempstead Town Seconds claimed a fifth consecutive victory after beating St Albans West Indian by 46 runs.

The team got off to a slow start before Jon Pearson came in and steadied the ship by hitting 43 which helped the team post 111 all out in 46.2 overs.

It did not look a big enough total but the bowlers had other ideas as they dismantled St Albans for just 65 in 24 overs.

Charlie Hoskins was the pick of the side as he returned figures of four for 19 from seven overs. This was matched by Bryan Davies in ten overs to leave Hemel third in the table heading into the final three games.

In Division Four A, Chorleywood Seconds secured a dramatic one-wicket win at Waltham Cross Rosedale Seconds to maintain their spot in second place.

Having been put in to bat, Waltham Cross responded with a challenging total of 237 for six in their 50 overs as Wood struggled to contain some determined batting. There were two wickets apiece for Steve Dellaedova (two for 44) and stand-in skipper Rohan Lee (two for 41) as the visitors picked up some late wickets to rein in the scoring rate.

The same Wood duo then led the charge with the bat as they both hit half-centuries, Lee notching 52 and Dellaedova increasing his highest score for the club with an excellent 62 in the latter stages. Wood lost wickets at regular intervals though, and in the end needed ten to win from the final over with their last pair of Steve Dunning and Will Bryant at the crease.

After two singles from the first two balls of the over, Bryant ignored the fading light and smashed a huge straight six that brought all his teammates to their feet and put his side on the brink. Another single followed from a wide that sealed the win for Wood with three balls to spare and kept them firmly in the promotion picture.

Hemel Hempstead Town Thirds’ promotion hopes were dashed after losing to Hitchin Seconds by 54 runs in Division Five A.

Hitchin scored a total of 197 from their innings. Tony Beamish impressed with the ball as he returned figures of three for 27 from nine overs. Martin Botha took two for 34 and Anjam Khan clinched two for 43.

It looked like Hemel were capable of chasing down this target but their plans did not work out as they were dismissed for 143.

Matt Dale scored 39 and Taq Hussain notched 23 but there was not enough support for Hemel to chase down the total.

Chipperfield Clarendon Seconds suffered a five-wicket defeat to Division Five B leaders Reed Seconds.

Winning the toss and batting, captain Shawn Mepham would have been hoping for a better performance against Reed as his 65 was the only score of note as Chipperdons were bowled out for 116.

Reed got to the target for the loss of five wickets. Mepham was again the pick of the bowlers with four for 34.
