Radlett remain on course to win the Herts Premier Division title after a nine-wicket victory at home to Welwyn Garden City in their play-off semi-final.

The result means Radlett will travel to North Mymms in the final tomorrow after the top two sides in the division won their matches.

Radlett finished top of the league after 14 victories from their 18 matches.

In the first meeting of the season between the sides, on the opening day, Radlett romped to a 136-run victory over North Mymms.

But their rivals avenged this defeat in July’s return game when North Mymms claimed a seven-wicket victory which was Radlett’s last defeat.

The Cobden Hill side won the toss in Saturday’s semi-final and opted to field first against Welwyn Garden City.

The decision certainly paid off as the top four batsmen were out for a combined 16 runs. However, Andrew Nolan provoked a fightback as he struck 46 while Connor Emerton hit 37.

Their knocks helped take the total up to 138 all out from 48.3 overs but this still looked too low to threaten Radlett the table-toppers.

Radlett The hosts made a confident start as they refused to give their opponents hope of turning the tie around.

Opener Fraser Crawford top-scored with 55 while Kabir Toor chipped in with 38.

Joe Cooke came in at number three and he finished on 18 not out which helped the side reach the targetfor the loss of one wicket.

Radlett only required 24.5 overs to wrap up a confident victory to keep them on track to retain the Premier Division title.

Kings Langley held their annual awards last Friday and Ricky Mohammed was named first team batsman of the year.

Dan Donaldson, who took 68 wickets, was the firsts’ bowler of the season.

Kevin Rolfe won the seconds’ batsman award while Duane Smith was chosen as their star bowler.

For the thirds, Josh Lloyd was the pick of their bowlers and Russell Knights received the batsman award.

George Hunt’s all-round club contribution helped him won the fourths’ batsman award and Tony Thompson was their best bowler.
