West Herts and Langleybury A would have been hoping to contest the latter stages of the Watford Observer Fourteen14 Shield, but they will now face each other in the Plate.
The draw for the opening round of this newspaper’s secondary midweek knockout competition has been made and the tie between the Stags, whose reign as Shield holders was ended by Aldenham School, and Langleybury was the last of the fixtures to come out of the hat.
The winners of that tie will face either Leverstock Green B or Aldenham in the semi-finals, while the top half of the draw sees Watford Grammar School for Boys start their pursuit of a fourth Plate title in six years against Watford Town B.
The reward for the winners of that fixture is a clash against either Met Police Bushey or Rickmansworth School Staff for a place in the final.
Plate first round (ties to be played by Friday, June 16): Watford Grammar School for Boys v Watford Town B; Met Police Bushey v Rickmansworth School Staff; Leverstock Green B v Aldenham; West Herts v Langleybury A.
