Chorleywood enjoyed a 60-run friendly victory when they visited Southgate Compton on Saturday.
Wood batted first and, despite the loss of a couple of cheap wickets early on, they managed to post a respectable target of 211 for six from their 40 overs.
Jeff O’Dwyer (70) and Andrew Dunning (60) both posted strong half-century knocks before retiring to allow their team mates a chance to spend time at the crease.
Ryan Evans (28 not out) and Michael Shippey (25 not out) put on an unbeaten 50-partnership for the ninth wicket as Wood produced a determined finish.
In reply, the hosts were skittled for 151 as Wood used a total of eight bowlers.
Evans produced a similarly strong display with the ball by taking three for 22, while Shippey (two for 19) and Josh Bungard (two for 25) both claimed a pair of wickets apiece.
Rohan Lee took the final two wickets without conceding a run during his 1.3 overs, as Wood swept to victory.
The club’s proposed friendly at Eastcote on Sunday was cancelled after their ground was flooded overnight, leaving Wood with one final weekend of friendlies before they send a team to compete in an international T20 tournament in La Manga, Spain.
