Steve Finn has been named in England’s 16-man squad for the Test series against Pakistan in UAE.
The Watford-born fast bowler, who has been playing in New Zealand to get some four-day games under his belt, is one of five pace bowlers in the squad, along with James Anderson, Tim Bresnan, Stuart Broad and Chris Tremlett.
The Middlesex player, who has taken 50 Test wickets at an average of almost 27, only played one Test this year – the draw against Sri Lanka at Lord’s in June – but he impressed on one-day and Twenty20 international duty.
England arrive in UAE on January 3 and will play three Tests in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, followed by four one-day matches and three Twenty20 fixtures.
