Steven Finn was the pick of the England bowlers against South Africa,  recording match figures of eight for 149 as the home side look to avoid a series defeat to South Africa.

The Watford-born fast bowler took four wickets in each innings as England look to keep their number one status in the Test rankings.

England struggled in the field dropping a total of nine catches throughout the match.

The hosts were set the unlikely target of 346 to win by the Proteas, a score that would be a world record chase.

At the close of play on day four, England had lost openers Andrew Strauss and Alastair Cook to Vernon Philander.

With another 330 runs needed for victory, England will have to go all out for the win, as a draw ensures South Africa replace England at the top of the rankings.
