The search is now underway for the 2011 champions of the Watford Observer Fourteen14. Entries for this year’s renamed events have now closed and 23 teams, including the holders, will be seeking to emulate Chipperfield Clarendon, who won the main Shield competition by defeating Langleybury A by 43 runs in a thrilling, high-scoring final last summer. Only two of the teams who have entered will have the opportunity to battle it out for the main prize, but glory is also on offer to the winners of the Plate, of which Watford Town A are the current holders. As in the previous eight years since its inception, eight teams will participate in this competition, which will run parallel to the latter stages of the Shield. The organisers wish to thank Abbots Langley, Chipperfield Clarendon, Met Police Bushey, Watford Town and West Herts for agreeing to help with hosting this year's semi-finals and finals. The key competition dates (subject to weather conditions) are:
