Watford FC have been given an up-hill task to get into the quarter-finals of the FA Cup, by drawing Chelsea out of the pot.
I was sitting down on the carpet at 6:30 pm, in front of the TV watching Gary Pallister pull Watford out of the hat to face Chelsea.
I think it would have been nice if Watford could have had a smaller team in the 5th round, so progression to the later stages looked more likely. But I suppose the board will be licking their lips, in sight of the money coming into Vicarage Road ahead of the clash.
It may well be an emotional day for Brendan Rodgers and the rest of his staff from Chelsea. However he will want to prove to Chelsea that they should have given him the manager’s job at Stamford Bridge, ahead of the current Chelsea boss, Luiz Felipe Scolari.
I will certainly be there as usual, cheering on the O’rns but I won’t be expecting to be seeing Watford in the quarterfinals unfortunately. There is definitely a good match in store though!
