Once again the Development team were faced with a formidable challenge which they met with aplomb against the team in pole position in the league.
The first half was a very even but goal-less affair.
The second half was a continuation of the first, with each team nullifying the other; it looked likely that which ever team scored first would take the spoils. Knowing this to be the case, Watford Captain, Katie Taylor, playing her former club, took the bull by the horns, and pushed forward to support her strikers. Linking well with Helen Capewell, she cut round the left side of the Spurs centre backs, and hit the ball from the eighteen yard line with accuracy. Though the Spurs keeper, Chelsea Spurrier, managed to get her fingers to the ball, she could not stop it and could only watch as it trickled agonisingly over the line. 0-1.
Ten minutes later when a misplaced strike from a Tottenham centre back gave Dowd the chance she needed she did not disappoint as she calmly passed the ball around Spurrier.
0-2.
Spurs sprung the offside trap in the last moments of the game for a consolation goal.
Final score 1-2.
