With many games called off because of waterlogged pitches the U10s played a superb match against St Albans’s City and emerged victorious.
From the kick off St Albans appeared to be the stronger team, but looks can be deceptive.
The ball spent the first 10 minutes in the Watford half until Emily grabbed it and ran half the length of the pitch to score. Watford then built on the advantage with Sophia and then Emily adding to the score line. St Albans pulled on back just on the stroke of half time to make it 3-1.
St Albans was the first to strike, early in the second half with their second and final goal of the game. From then on they were no match for the Watford defence and when Sophia whipped through the St Albans defence to make it 4-2 it was all over. With near enough the last kick of the game, Sophia completed her hat trick.
Final score Watford ladies 5 St Albans city 2
