A long journey round the M25 took the Development team to the opposite side of London where they met Bromleian Ladies. A hard fought game which was only decided after extra time.

Watford scored first from a miss-kick by a Bromley defender which went straight to Samantha Dowd on the eighteen yard line. Sam coolly put it past the keeper to make the score 0-1.

Shortly afterwards the Bromley captain retaliated and from a well timed run put the ball into the back of the Watford net to make it 1-1 which was the half time score.

Both teams started the second half in bullish form and matched each other end to end but the defenders and keepers did their job well to keep the score unchanged and the half ended 1-1.

So extra time loomed. Tired legs began to show and in the first half, against the wind, Watford rarely got over the halfway. A wind assisted miss-kick, this time from Watford, gave the Bromley Captain the touch and she made it count by kicking the ball into the back of the Watford net. 2-1.

When the teams changed round for the final time Watford camped in the Bromley half but Bromley blocked every effort that Watford made and, despite a succession of corners, Watford eventually ran out of time. Final score 2-1.

Watford Player of the Match for the second time, in only her second match, was Charlotte Hallisey, Watford Development Squad: S Lehrle, C Burgess, A Chin, L Smith, L Crickitt (H Hendin 75), D Sookdele (L Paul 78), L Roche (K Taylor 65), J Cushnie, C Hallisey, S Dowd, H Capewell.
