With the new season soon arriving, things at Vicarage Road are starting to settle down. The financial position has cleared up partially due to the loan and as Watford managed to avoid relegation last season, people have started to relax and relish the World Cup in South Africa.

Having saying this Watford desperately need to bring in players after the likes of Richard Lee, Will Hoskins, John Harley and Jay Demerit all departing. Tom Cleverley, Heidar Helguson and Henri Lansbury have all returned to their parent clubs after enjoying successful loan spells with the hornets which now leaves the team lacking in depth. Malky Mackay will have to hunt around and find some bargains as we all know the budget is tight, and a few loan signings would go down a treat too.

If we do add some reasonable additions to our squad, I could see the hornets finishing in the top half of the table and sustaining our Championship status for at least another season. To be totally honest anything but relegation would be a success in my opinion and I think Danny Grahams form could be the key to Watford’s season.

So enjoy the World Cup and the rest of the summer and then get ready for another action packed season at Vicarage Road.
