The citing of Exeter Chiefs forward James Hanks for ‘making contact with the eye or eye area’ of Saracens ’ Steve Borthwick during a match last Sunday has been dismissed.

How I know Mark Yeates better than most!

Yeates in action against Watford.

11:03pm Wednesday 13th July 2011

Watford Football Club has today announced the signing of Mark Yeates from Sheffield United and although his name may be unknown to many Hornets fans, this Irishman’s name is all too familiar with me.

Why Dyche Will Be A Success at Watford.

12:36am Wednesday 22nd June 2011

Watford Football Club has announced the appointment of Sean Dyche as first team manager. The hornets have also confirmed the signing of Craig Forsyth on a 3 year deal from Dundee. A minority of the Watford fans are never pleased with the promotion of assistant manager to manager yet I struggled to see any better applicant for the Watford helm. This is why I think Bassini has done the right thing in appointing Dyche as manager: • Sean Dyche knows the club inside out which will help him undertake the role left by Malky Mackay who exited for Cardiff. He’ll recognize the present finances available should understand which formation suits the team best along with distinguishing who the better players are at the club.

Watford’s Play Off Hopes Surely Ended.

11:55am Thursday 14th April 2011

After Tuesday’s draw to Norwich and Saturday’s defeat to Hull City, Watford’s play off dreams are all but over. The Hornets lay seven points off sixth place and would most probably have to win their five remaining games to have any hope of snatching sixth place or higher.

A Great Experience and Three Points All Round

Concentrating on the interview

6:41pm Saturday 23rd October 2010

On a bitter cold Tuesday night, Watford were at home to Ipswich Town in a Npower Championship League match. For this match, I was lucky enough to sit in the press box and interview a player of my choice once the game had drawn to a close. As part of my journalism course at West Herts College, I have to write an article for each edition of the college magazine, so I thought that a review of an interview with a Watford player would be a great piece to go in the sport section.

Pakistani Cricket In Betting Scandal

2:33pm Thursday 7th October 2010

During Pakistan’s cricket tour of England earlier this year, seven players were accused of match fixing by the British tabloid newspaper News of the World. On the third day of the fourth test, the paper published an article stating that Mazhar Majeed had accepted a £150,000 bribe from an undercover reporter. In return Majeed confirmed that two Pakistani bowlers, Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Amir would deliberately deliver no balls at specific points during the match. Mazhar Majeed is a cricket agent who is now under police investigation at Scotland Yard.

New Signings Are Promising

2:18am Monday 23rd August 2010

With the Hornets making a great start to the Npower Championship, a few thoughts are coming into my mind about Watford’s starting eleven.

High Hopes For The Hornets

6:32pm Tuesday 8th June 2010

With the new season soon arriving, things at Vicarage Road are starting to settle down. The financial position has cleared up partially due to the loan and as Watford managed to avoid relegation last season, people have started to relax and relish the World Cup in South Africa.

Cleverley Back For Peterborough Clash

6:27pm Friday 12th March 2010

Tom Cleverley will be back in the Watford team tomorrow after completing a 3 match ban. The Hornets take on Peterborough at Vicarage Road and desperately need the three points. Will Buckley could be called up to the squad but it looks doubtful. Other than that there are no fresh injury concerns for Malky’s men. Watford lay only two points off the relegation zone, yet a win in tomorrow’s match could lift them up to 16th providing other results go their way.
