Watford Harriers’ Hannah Kitchen took part in her first duathlon for three years and claimed a sixth-place finish at the British Senior Elite Duathlon Championships.
The race, which saw competitors tackle a 5k run, 20k cycle and 2.5k run, was held at the Rockingham Motor Racing Circuit in Corby.
Kitchen started well and was in eighth place at the first transition.
On the bike, the group bunched together and at the end of the second stage there were 20 athletes in contention for the title.
Kitchen chased down several competitors in the final stage and that allowed her to cross the line in sixth in a time of 1.02.10.
