Sun Postal Sports boss Paul Hobbs says his side fear no-one in the Spartan South Midlands Premier Division and believes Sun have benefitted from maintaining positive momentum form last term.

After winning promotion from Division One last term, Sun Postal have begun the 2014/15 campaign in impressive form and sit second in their first season at this level.

And Hobbs is of the belief his side have been able to build on a strong finish to last season again this term.

He explained: "I think it has helped [the momentum of winning promotion]. To finish the season with a good run, we have been able to carry it into this season.

"There is no-one to be scared of. We’re eight or nine games in and everyone has had a look at each other now and assessed one another. Every game presents a different challenge but not ones we are scared of."

Sun kept up their strong start on Saturday with a 4-0 win at Wembley - the club’s fourth consecutive victory and their third clean sheet in a row.

After shipping eight in their first three, Hobbs believes Sun have now put their defensive problems behind them.

"We have had a settled back four and we are now looking settled at the back," he opined. "People have come back from their holidays and festivals and so on, so we’re able to get that consistency.

"It is not just the boys at the back, though, it is the whole side which is defending well. We have worked on it [defending] in training and we were aware of the fact we were shipping silly goals. I think mainly it [the number of clean sheets kept] has been down to cutting out silly errors."

Goals from James Armstrong, Scott Bonner, Richard Pearce and Nathan Pooley did the damage against Wembley, in a performance Hobbs admitted he was ‘thrilled’ with.

He enthused: "We were expecting a tough game and we found ourselves 3-0 up at half-time. I am thrilled to bits with all the lads because it was an excellent performance and result.

"Something has clicked. We played well at Wembley and we had five good chances in the first half, hit the target with four and scored three goals.

"They probably had about the same but did not score any; so that is the way it goes sometimes - it is a fine line. We are doing OK and taking our chances they come along."

Sun travel to Hoddesdon Town on Saturday.
