Leverstock Green have continued the club’s best-ever FA Cup run by setting up a second qualifying round tie with Staines Town after overcoming Biggleswade United on Saturday.

Biggleswade play in the Southern League Premier Division - a step above Levy in the Spartan South Midlands Premier Division and a division below the Conference North/South.

However, Green tore up the form guide to overcome their higher-level opposition 2-1 and now face a trip to Conference South side Staines Town as a result.

Green had to do it the hard way and fell behind in the 54th minute when Lee Bilcock put the hosts ahead by firing into the top corner of Kieran Jimmy’s goal.

Manager Dene Gardner introduced himself as a substitute in the 72nd minute and just 60 seconds later, he had the desired impact, crossing for Adam Drakulic to turn into his own net and level for the visitors.

With a replay looking the most likely outcome, Billy Smith crossed for David Sobers to poke home and secure a trip to Wheatsheaf Park.

Levy return to league action with a visit from Colney Heath on Saturday, before travelling to AFC Dunstable on Wednesday.

In the Spartan South Midlands Premier Division, Tring Athletic sit atop the division after extending their unbeaten start by drawing 1-1 with Harefield United on Saturday.

A bright opening was undone when Harefield’s Ryan Egan bundled home from a corner kick. However, in the 21st minute, Greg Deer equalised from the penalty spot following a foul on Stuart King.

Tring host Oxhey Jets on Saturday before travelling to Stony Stratford Town in the Spartan South Midlands Challenge Trophy on Tuesday.

Just a point behind Tring are Berkhamsted, who sit in third place following a 1-1 draw with Kings Langley on Saturday.

Adiel Mannion put Berko ahead after 12 minutes but with just eight minutes remaining, Alex Campana levelled for Kings.

Berkhamsted host Stotfold on Saturday.
