Kings Langley Ladies were beaten 7-2 by Houghton Athletic Ladies on Sunday after succumbing to three early goals.
A bright start by Kings was undone when an injury forced a re-shuffle for the hosts, who then shipped three goals in quick succession.
Mary Hogan reduced the arrears three minutes into the second half, and despite chances for Kim Nield, Nicole Barrett and Sam Walters, Kings were unable to further reduce the deficit.
Former Spurs winger Sophie Jackson netted on her debut for the club with a 77th-minute header, but Kings never seriously threatened to overhaul their visitors.
Kings are in League Cup action on Sunday as they host Broadhall Ladies (2pm kick off).
