Sun Postal Sports make their first appearance in the FA Vase in seven years tomorrow (Saturday) as they host Potton United in the second extra preliminary round.

Sun last played in the competition in 2007 when they were beaten 7-1 by Hanwell Town.

"We can't wait," Hobbs, who led the side to the Division One title win last season, told the club website. "We've been eyeing this tie for a while and there is a real buzz around the club."

Sun go into the game on the back of a victory. A brace from James Armstrong helped the side move up to third in the Premier Division after they defeated London Tigers 3-1 on Tuesday.

Sun broke the deadlock in the 11th minute and it was a familiar name on the scoresheet as Armstrong found the net.

Dan Weeks had forced a diving save from the Tigers goalkeeper but Armstrong was on hand to touch home the rebound.

Sun doubled their lead just before the half hour. Armstrong again found the net as his fierce strike wasn’t dealt with by the visiting stopper.

The hosts went into the break with a two-goal lead. They went looking for a third in the second period but it was Tigers who pulled a goal back from the penalty spot.

Nerves started to creep into the home side’s display but they managed to settle those with a third goal as Simeon Fearon struck. It proved enough to secure victory.

On Saturday, Sun twice let a lead slip as they were beaten 5-3 by Oxhey Jets. Ashley Lewis netted twice in the defeat while Fearon scored Sun’s other goal.

A hat-trick from Tim O’Mara and a brace from Eoin Casey saw Jets fight back and seal the three points.
